We absolutely love Babylonian Vamp. It is the perfect exotic hideaway behind the gorgeous bougainvillea on the first floor. The bathroom is like chocolate heaven with the biggest bathtub I’ve ever bathed in…

What inspired this name?
Truthfully? A fantasy… one which somehow brought together the Femme Fatale with The Hanging Gardens of Babylon which I always loved as they are the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world whose existence may be a Myth.
The legend is a beautiful story of devotion about a King Nebuchadnezzar who built the Gardens for his beloved Queen Amytia who missed the gardens of her homeland.
I love this suite for its unadulterated intimacy and tranquility. Perfect for a romantic weekend away.
I positioned it by itself on the first floor, next door to the peaceful peridot-coloured open salon, overlooking the Fountain Courtyard and hidden behind a romantic archway. This is a charming shaded area to relax and enjoy a drink and a book.
I chose a seductively exotic magenta colour for the walls of this suite and deep jewel colours for the detailing.
Babylonian Vamp has a double bed, sumptuous vintage silk velvet cushions, a tall marble console table and exquisite hand made Syrian crystal lamps. Its three windows look over the Fountain Courtyard below.
I’ve used a rich chocolate-mahogany coloured polished tadlekt for the bathroom and have built Grecian columns at the entrance to a very large, deep bath with an overhead shower.
The bathroom has two large twin handmade copper basins.
I imagine Babylonian Vamp as the perfect suite for those planning a romantic weekend or more away and wishing to quietly re-connect.
